So I don’t need to go on about how awesome San Francisco has been, because there’s been no shortage of high points. Though, fine, I guess one will suffice: Golden Gate Park is a jaw-dropper. But you knew that already.
One unintended high point happened while we were heading out for happy hour on Tuesday night: we stumbled upon the Celtics filing out of a neighboring hotel en route to the Warriors game. Check out the above shot of Liz with the World’s Tallest Deadhead.
Anyway, as for the puzzle, I tried to make another Easy one, though it might be a little on the Medium side of things. So heads up on that one. FWIW: my favorite clue out of the bunch is 38-Down. And that’s pretty much all I got for liner notes. The puzzle, I think, speaks for itself.
Share the puzzle. New one on Monday.
Didn’t know either 29D or 39A and it took me (literally) a minute to find that and change the check to be right.
Loved “Gangsta Arp”
Would “piece of carp” pass the NYT sniff test?
Thought I was so clever to get AGAIN at 5A, but it didn’t last long. Longer lasting was TEAR for Wear’s partner which was only fixed when GOTH became evident. A fun puzzle.
Now I know how to pronounce that Steely Dan album that I’ve yet to listen to. Thanks!
Nice clue on 38-D, btw.
Glad you enjoyed San Farn. (d’oh).
I was big on the music of goth, EBM, and the like. Nice to see the clue with Siouxsie and the Banshees.
Plus the Muse for the crossword solvers and cruciverbalists should be Mendeleyev, the ideator of the periodic chart. So when you are about to embark on a very difficult XWP, take your bust of Mendeleyev or bobblehead and focus on his spirit. Cuz if you dont you deserve to draw blanks on that XWP.
