Contest entries are still piling in. How can we tell? It’s because the meistersinger is starting to get nervous. Listen. If you strain your ears in just the right way, you can hear him warming up. Get on it people! There’s still time to enter the Ben Tausig Sings contest! This contest couldn’t possibly get any easier. Just send a karaoke song request to BenTausigSings [at] gmail.com, and Ben will record the winning entries (to be posted here on Monday). The deadline is Friday night, i.e. tomorrow, sometime, within reason. We won’t actually go the entries until the coffee’s brewed Saturday morning, sayin’. Entries will be judged by me and Ben and our wives. The judging criteria is entirely at our own discretion, but may include humor, appositeness, overall challenge, greatess of said song, etc. There will be two winners: grand prize will receive Ben’s latest crossword book (Crosswords From the Underground), and an advanced copy of my latest book (Sex, Drugs & Rock ‘n’ Roll Crosswords). Runner up, just Ben’s.
Enter the contest. Share the puzzle. Contest results and a new on posted on Monday.
Well, I don’t have a default mail client, so my computer won’t let me enter the contest but I’d like to hear Bob Dylan’s “Lay Lady Lay” – Seems like it might be apropos of your new xword book, Brendan.
Enjoyed this puzzle. Really wanted the last theme answer to be ONE NATION UNDER A GROOVE, which wouldn’t have worked, obviously. Still thinking about the contest.
