Sixty word grid? Sixty word grid. That’s around my, uh, ceiling (is that right word?) for lowest word count. I think I may have made one 58, but man, anything lower than 60 and it just gets too damned hard. For me at least. You have to rely on a few too many “roll your own” answers. As well as entries that begin with RE- and end with -ER or -EST. Sure, are those entries in every crossword? Yes. But these wide open “stunt grids” tend to lean on those entries a bit more. I think miraculously there’s nothing that particularly falls into either of those categories in today’s puzzle. After taking a quick gander at the grid, I was surprised how much music I put in there, when I wasn’t especially planning on going that route while I made it. What’s that adage? Write what you know? Okay, I write what I know.
Share the puzzle. New one on Thursday.
Nice. Typo in 5D?
Shouldn’t the clue for 39A be “Part of the field…”?
I agree. Filled in with down answers, but didn’t understand it. PART of field makes much more sense.
