THEMELESS MONDAY: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]
PROGRAMS: [Across Lite] [Adobe Reader]
PROGRAM: [Java]
If I haven’t already, I should say a big thank you to Peter Gordon. As far as I can tell, he’s the first constructor to use this basic black and white pattern for themelesses. It’s no fun trying to build puzzles with flashy 12-letter seed entries because of the three forced black squares in the grid construction. That said, this grid accomodates two of them rather nicely while allowing for a lot of room to put other fun entries. It’s easily one of my favorite stock grids to work with.
If you feel like it, Peter’s looking for some help with his latest Fireball Newsweekly Crossword Kickstarter. Give if you can.
The BEQ holiday drive is still going strong. To get your two free never before published Sunday-sized puzzles just throw a couple bucks in the ole’ tip jar and you’ll get them almost immediately. Stumped for gift ideas for the holidays? The Biz Quig’s got you covered with this handy gift guide. Cuz that’s how I roll.
Share the puzzle. New one on Thursday.
Nice puzzle! Love 33A (the clue/entry, not the thing itself). Clue for 57D should be plural though.
A gem. The top half was easy, the bottom brutal, especially the SW where I put 48D Angle and 49D LoaNS. Are LIENS really offerings? I think of them as a punishment.
55-Down slowed me significantly, because I think of Grass as referring to marijuana & Dope as referring to heroin. I realize that they can both be used more generally, but it still kinda throws me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHhAxY4Pryw
SE kicked my ass. Lived up to the “Hard” description.
Hit this one going through the archive. I feel the need to point out that 25-down is incorrect as clued: John Williams has far more nominations. You need to qualify with “acting” to get to the intended answer.
Otherwise a very solid puzzle.
Aaaand nevermind. I see that you fixed it, I just happened to have gotten the Across Lite file before the fix.
