THEMELESS MONDAY: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]
PROGRAMS: [Across Lite] [Adobe Reader]
PROGRAM: [Java]
Who’s up for a legitimate Monday, non-themeless (gasp!) NYT puzzle by the Biz Quig? Yeah, you know you are. Pick it up here: [Across Lite] [PDF]. Enjoy.
As for today’s, I tried to do one of those patented Manny Noswosky-ish slash Patrick Berry-esque wide-open middle of the puzzle themelesses. Not as crazy thick as the other masters, but this one boasts three 11s flanked by five 9s. 66 words overall, and although there appear to be an excess of black squares, it has four less than the limit. Once you throw in a couple fun bits of trivia and wordplay in the clues, methinks this one’s not too shabby at all. Hope you enjoy it.
Oh yeah, almost forgot. I did a quick Q&A with the folks over at Puzzle Nation. I believe I only sort of made a fool of myself. That’s usually much better than most of these interviews I do where I look like a drooling idiot. Good times.
Another friendly reminder that it’s not too late to partake in the tip drive. The site is always free, so never feel obligated to pay money for it. However, if you like what you see and you can throw in $10 (or more) into the tip jar before July 7th, I’ll hook you up with two new Sunday-sized puzzles (a themed and a themeless). That’s a win-win in my book. And when you’re done with that, consider giving to Peter Gordon’s kickstarter.
Share the puzzle. New one on Thursday.
Great clues for sexted and slalom. Nice puzzle.
