Music and crosswords, why that’s almost a trifecta of “All Things BEQ.” Well, you can’t have it all. Came up with the first answer whilst eating some Indian food. Sent it my man Francis Heaney, as I often do when I think I have a theme answer that shall forever remain without a proper theme, … and he sent back a second answer. So after screwing the thinking cap on came up with the set (assisted by Francis, I should say). And there it is. Enjoy.
Share the puzzle. New one on Monday.
Clever. 18A begged for a Clockwork Orange reference.
Especially hysterical today. Plus, 9D and 39D are symmetrical, since 39D also used to be common but is now a rarity in plane cabins.
Speaking of air travel, you might want to change the clue for 43A to “When you’ll be at the gate”?
I was about to point the same thing out! I’m no professional crossword writer like BEQ is, but I thought there was a rule about using words in abbreviations in clues for those abbreviations, which threw me off.
44A’s clue amused me.
Original clue works fine for me.
And to mathgrant: “a rule about using words in abbreviations in clues for those abbreviations….: what?????
The A in ETA stands for arrival… “Arriving” was used in the clue
41D LITERALLY made milk come out of my nose… thanks.
