THEMELESS MONDAY: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]
PROGRAMS: [Across Lite] [Adobe Reader]
PROGRAM: [Java]
David Stickley, Australian cryptic writer who occasionally appears in the New York Times, dropped me a line a few weeks ago asking what I thought of his free weekly cryptics website. Free weekly cryptics? I’m in! So the Biz Quig printed out a handful for the pockets and was armed for the down times between parenting duties. Now normally, the overseas puzzles require a bit of, how shall I say, overseas knowledge to grok said puzzles, but that didn’t seem to be the case with these. I’d rate them at the medium side of a medium/hard difficulty. So if block cryptics are your thing, bookmark ’em and get to it. (Or if you’re a Stand Alone user, be sure to subscribe to his feed there.)
Share the puzzle. New one on Thursday.
Hard, indeed, but fun. You could almost have made it an “instant messaging” theme, since I’M all over the place.
Thanks for the gimmes at 6D and 20D. Really opened up a lot of the crosses for me.
Tough and fun. I had to get all of the music references from crosses and guesses. Liked the powder and tail clues; had to erase ARTFilM and decimal. Thanks for the cryptics tip!
I just got a new tablet and i cant download the puzzles to Shortyz directly. It used to open directly via the across lite link. Anybody have any idea what i am doing wrong?
