BLANK OUT: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]
PROGRAMS: [Across Lite] [Adobe Reader]
Title first, theme developed around said title, grid built around said developed theme, clues written for said developed grid. That’s the formula for making puzzles. It’s kind of like how Michelangelo made David, only a bit different. I mean, this is just a crossword.
Good luck to any/all of the BEQ.com regulars who are doing the MIT Hunt this weekend. I did it for three years back when I had more free time to attempt puzzles round the clock. Well, I still have a puzzle to grapple with 24/7. That puzzle is called “Tabitha.” Good times. Anyway, if you’ve never heard of said event, I think this article does the trick of capturing the overall lunacy.
Share the puzzle. New one on Monday.
Mislabeled, I think. Quite easy. Fun. Thanks.
I’m embarassed to ask, but I did not understand the theme… what is the correlation between the clues, answers, and title?
As I was writing my comment that I didn’t get the theme at all and therefore my puzzle-solving experience was dismal, it dawned on me what the theme “Blank Out” meant.
As Rosanne Roseannadanna would say, “never mind.”
I think you meant “David was just a statue.”
Bob, for each long answer the clue is a single letter. To get the actual clue for the given answer, you need to add “out” to the end of the letter that is the clue. For example, for the clue that is “B,” you need to add “out” to make the actual clue “Bout” for which the answer is “boxing match.”
Me too… Thanks, Bob.
someone PLEASE tell me how to enter the letters into the crossword puzzle on my Samsung tablet !!
