THEMELESS MONDAY: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]
PROGRAMS: [Across Lite] [Adobe Reader]
This gem of a photo came to BEQ.com headquarters late last week courtesy of my brother-in-law’s father-in-law, Stu White of Portlandia. Stu writes: “This spot seemed to demand consecration as a Brendan-themed sanctuary. It’s on the island of Kauai, where we were part of a Road Scholar birding trip (combining two of my passions – birding and cross wording).” And how, Stuart. This photo’s doing double duty. Not only does the photo bring a smile to our faces, but, and this is more important (crucial?), We Have A New Clue For NENE!!!!! {“___ Crossing” (sign on the island of Kauai)} coming soon to a crossword near you!
Share the puzzle. New one on Thursday.
Nice puzzle. Really like this grid design, lots of solid mid-length answers. “Nene” is also Seminole for “trail,” commonly used as a substitute for the word “street” when naming roadways in N.Fla.
FWIW, Todd McClary clued NENE as [Image on a Hawaiian road-crossing sign] in his Chronicle of Higher Education puzzle of February 3, 2012.
I can’t figure out the theme. PleAse help
Sorry wrong puzzle.
