MIC DROP: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]

Really odd looking grid for today’s offering, entirely forced by an weird theme with tight constraints. And yet it’s got the word count of a typical themeless crossword. I guess that means it’s a combination BEQ puzzle with shades of Byron Walden ambition and maybe some old school A. J. Santora-style construction for good measure. File this one under: “Kids, don’t try this at home!” But, you see, I’m a professional, so I can try this. At my home, even, as that’s where my office is. Have I mentioned lately how much I love my job?
If you were considering contributing to the summer BEQ pass the hat drive, but haven’t yet, this is the last reminder. Like I’ve always say, this site remains free, forever. But your favorite constructor likes to eat now and then and a $10 tip showing how much joy these puzzles bring to you every week means a lot. And as a token of my appreciation, I will send you three bonus puzzles, two 21xs and a variety puzzle. Just in time to entertain you in between beers, burgers and trips to the beach this Fourth of July weekend. Heck, throw in another tenner and I’ll add you to the biweekly Marching Bands as well (you’ll get 5 more puzzles immediately).
Thanks to all who were able to give so far.
Oh yeah, I will personally help one randomly selected donor make a puzzle. Could you be that donor? Find out on Monday.
Share the puzzle. New one on Monday.
