THEMELESS MONDAY: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]
PROGRAMS: [Across Lite] [Adobe Reader]
Employed the unofficial “Mike Shenk Axiom” of themeless puzzle construction this go-around by starting with the second answer from the top in this crossword. Partly because it’s made up of “fluid” letters (letters that work pretty well in the second positions of words for the Downs), but mostly because I found it hard to believe that that answer hasn’t been used before. Feel free to prove me wrong, as I’m a human being and have been known to be wrong every now and then. Okay, almost on a daily basis, but who’s counting? Taking another look at the grid now I see that 2-Down is substantially more “fluid” than 15-Across, so there’s that. No points for guessing the seeds in the other four corners, though. You know what they are.
Thanks to all who were able to give to the summer “pass the hat” drive. If you gave and haven’t received the bonus puzzles yet, drop me a line. As announced our randomly selected donor who will get some puzzle making assistance from yours truly is G. J. Echternkamp from South Pasadena. G.J. is a filmmaker when he’s not solving my puzzles, “Frank and Cindy” looks promising, if you’re looking for some movie recommendations. Anyway, thanks again to all who were able to chip in.
Share the puzzle, new one on Thursday.
Hey Brendan — Congrats on the Sun BG puzzle. Is that going to be a regular thing?
