THEMELESS THURSDAY: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]
PROGRAMS: [Across Lite] [Adobe Reader]
Not a programming error. Two themless puzzles this week. Frabjous day! Callooh! Callay! Anyway, 64 worder, extra chunky. Hope you like it.
Lest you get confused, that number in the title (#366) is the total number of themeless puzzles on this site. I write a lot of puzzles, but I haven’t also written 365 Themeless Thursday puzzles hidden in some vault somewhere. That’d be ridiculous.
Share the puzzle. New one on Monday.
The cluing was especially clever in this one. “Unspecified direction in recipes” and “Words with a headshot”, for example. I believe there should be a space between “may” and “be” in the 41A clue, though.
30d!
36D – Castle Bravo was technically an H-test, not an A-test. It was the first US test of a dry fuel hydrogen bomb. FYI.
Never heard of PURLIEU @ 3D or author MALONEY @ 19A, but there were only a few possible letters, and PURLIEU seemed consistent with milieu. Fun puzzle. I like learning a new word — especially when it it’s a real and not some new made-up slang.
Would much appreciate posters not giving answers to clues in comments; not everyone DLs BEQ’s puzzles immediately. Thanks!
Apologies. I thought it was late enough. 🙂
Themelesss? 😉
Sweet!
