THEMELESS MONDAY: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]

Themeless Monday, right on cue. Enjoy.
Now last week, I got a couple copies of “Octopus Crosswords” from Puzzlewright Press (thanks, Peter). I’ve talked about this book before, and how these are Helter Skelter puzzles with a new name. For the uninitiated, they’re mini themeless puzzles where the answers go in eight different directions, constantly overlapping themselves. They’re fun, although they’re probably a shade easy for the regulars to this here site. But like I say in the intro of the book, I think of them as “gateway drugs” to much more adventurous variety puzzles. Get a copy for the friend who’s not quite ready to branch out of regular crosswords, today.
So yeah, I have a box of these things and I want to give some of them away. So, let’s run a little contest, shall we?
Tabitha got Pictionary for her birthday, and since she’s a budding artist, she loves it. I took pictures that she drew in our latest game and have decided to share some of them with you. The rules for the contest are simple: email me your best guesses as to what the following ten pictures are supposed to be. Feel free to open the images in another tab to really explore the detail (#8, especially for some reason isn’t quite fitting on this page). Anyway … One email per contestant! Three winners will be randomly selected from the group who have the most correct answers. Simple enough. All winners will get a copy of “Octopus Crosswords.” The contest ends Sunday September 30th, 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Good luck, everybody!
