THEMELESS MONDAY: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]
PROGRAMS: [Across Lite] [Adobe Reader]
The last puzzle of 2018 is a rerun of the finals puzzle at this year’s Crosswords LA tournament. I clued this thing as hard as I could have possibly imagined, and even then it was probably too hard. For example, the original clue for 15-Across was {Tesla rival, once}. And if that’s the kind of clue that makes you smile, we should get a beer (or a dozen) sometime. Anyway, enjoy it.
Deep heartfelt thanks to all who were able to chip in this past drive. If for some reason you haven’t got the bonus puzzles yet, email me, and I’ll rectify that as soon as possible. And as previously mentioned, our randomly selected tipper who gets a copy of “Octopus Crosswords” and a gift subscription to the independent puzzle service of her choice is Diane Wahto of Parts Unknown. Congrats to Diane and thanks again to all.
Have a great 2019, everybody. New one on Thursday.
Fugazi!!!
Good puzzle, but too many obscure proper nouns spoil the solve.
Brutal. HNY!
A good puzzle. As a former tennis player, I couldn’t get past trying fill in 31 down with “court_pro”, “_” unknown, forgot about golf! Had I overcome that prejudice, the solution was possible, with a couple of lucky guesses, for someone who never heard of Bobo Denkirk or Julia Ellis. Again, a good puzzle.
It’s Bob Odenkirk 🙂

“Bobo Denkirk” made my day!
Anna Shechtman thinks you’re weak and whiny.

Glinda and Joel – sorry, way out here in the sagebrush…glad you enjoyed the gaffe!
Awesome! Took a long time to come up with COURSE PRO. Started to doubt my puzzle skills.I loved it. Roger BOBO played tuba with the LA Phil from 1964-1989. He gave the first solo tuba recital in the history of Carnegie Hall. He used to show up on the Carson show. I think there are some Youtube vids of his appearances.
And here I was thinking Bo Bodenkirk!
