THEMELESS MONDAY: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]
PROGRAMS: [Across Lite] [Adobe Reader]
Another Themeless Monday, extra blocky grid today. Hope that’s enough for you to chew on.
Looking for more puzzles? The Hub Crossword (Sunday puzzles by me and Emily Cox and Henry Rathvon) and Marching Bands year seven have begun. So if that To Do list needs even more puzzles, you know what to do.
Share the puzzle. New one on Thursday.
Seeing today’s puzzle in the shape of a Quasi-X or Quasi-Chi, i guess it could be that. Also 4 “joysticks” and one diagonal strip…..Amazing. Great cluing with the bottom right quadrant giving me trouble but still making through. Also, since the 15th anniversary is coming up in days, having watched WORDPLAY, the first and only documentary on crossword solving so far as I know. Have to have a mandatory sequel to this.
Fun puzzle, thanks!
The whammy bar effect is actually vibrato, a change in pitch, and not tremolo, a change in amplitude. However, this misidentification has become so widespread, that only guitar-playing, electrical engineers really care anymore. And as anyone who is familiar with Fourier transforms knows, amplitude modulation does shift the “carrier” frequency à la the sidebands of AM radio transmission.
I enjoy your clues but have a problem with your software. If I set aside my iPad halfway through solving it in a chrome browser, it often erases or forgets my answers. Very frustrating.
The software you are likely having a problem with is the Chrome browser. I have given up trying to do any form of crossword in that browser and use Firefox instead but go back to chrome for my regular browsing.
