“Country where a pair of Levi’s jeans could have be sold for about a month’s salary”. Think you have a typo there, bud.
Also (please know I appreciate the crossword and I say this with love and humility) I was REALLY hoping “Change for a Grant” was going to be “ABES”. Initially typed it in thinking “Damn…that BEQ is f*cking clever!”
Please keep in mind the difference in meaning of
‘Disinterest” and “uninterest”
Fun puzzle!
I’m not sure I get the connection to “Challengers,” but it’s a great song from one of my favorite bands. (Kinda creepy video, but so what?)
Thanks.
“Son of a gun, we’ll have big fun…” And fun it was, starting right at 1A. (I was gonna tip you off about the clue at 23D…add an “en” and you’re golden…but I see Anonymous beat me to it.)
Thanks so much, Brendan!
So of course half an hour after I commented, I got the connection to 10D.
I can be so dense sometimes. This is why I suck at meta puzzles.
