DIS-ENTANGLE: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]
PROGRAMS: [Across Lite] [Adobe Reader]
Two puzzles today. One from BEQ and one from my daughter Tabitha. I mean, would you look at that thing? How amazing is that. Grid? Make that “some sort abstract variety puzzle pattern” instead. Clues and/or some sort of cypher? Naturally. The instructions I was given were “to put those words in the squares here.” All right then. Best part yet is that when I confidently asked her if the final answer was supposed to be “Happy Birthday,” she told me no. So yeah, it’s official. The apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree, especially when it comes to making puzzles riddled with traps.
Tabitha would like to add that if the response to this puzzle is good, she’d be happy to make more of them. Now if that isn’t a girl after her own daddy’s heart …
Share the puzzle. New one on Monday.
Programming note: this puzzle would work better if Across Lite had another way of highlighting answers other than circles, but … what are you gonna do. Hope springs eternal that we can get a new universal puzzle format. Eventually. In the meantime, use your imagination, people. And if you can’t, the HTML version got it right.
Okay. That’s adorable.
I only hope YOUR puzzle is that good…
Too cute. Definitely more pics like that. Have they picked you for the new USA Today editor? They should.
The write-up on crossword fiend shed light (no pun intended) on the programming note.
Tabitha’s grid is inspired…. just beautiful. Looking forward to a few years from now when she’s stumping us all.
