THEMELESS MONDAY: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]
PROGRAMS: [Across Lite] [Adobe Reader]
PROGRAM: [Java]
Tabitha dropped a new word this weekend, and like any infant with a new toy, she couldn’t stop using it. Just about every sentence seemed to be peppered with it. She used it so many times so that it started to sound like a microtonal toddler singing the above song. Which is to say: Awesome.
As for today’s puzzle, I’m surprised somebody like Matt Jones or Ben Tausig never used 38-Across first. Snooze and lose, boys. For the record: 25-Across is my fave clue in the batch.
Share the puzzle. New one on Thursday.
Embarrassing time. I almost didn’t record it, but then decided I shouldn’t be so “proud.”
I am amazed by the super-solvers who are so consistent — the tournament winners!
My time on Sunday’s NYTimes was stellar, and then I couldn’t complete Monday’s.
Does Tabitha also know the sign language for “more”? My two year old granddaughter signs while saying “keek” (cake — anything sweet).
Thanks for the challenges!
Best clues are 15A, 25A, 21D, and 2D. 9A is going to be clued as JUDAS _____ or PISCES ______. Now this thing about what happened at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront and all the ensuing controversy. The City Council meeting that was going to focus on curbing – er, increase tourism in VA Beach, I would have thought they were remaking SALO, or THE 120 DAYS OF SODOM. Revolting.
Thanks Brendan. You challenge my brain and you help keep me updated on faddish pop terms I wouldn’t otherwise want to waste precious neurons on (28D). Keep up the good work!
And congrats to Tabitha on her new word. I’ll never forget the day my granddaughter learned the power of “again,” as in “again again AGAIN Papa! Do it AGAIN!”
