I hardly slept last night. Coincidentally, Tabitha hardly slept last night, too. My excuse was that I was having a really tough time coming down from ridiculous Patriots/Ravens game. That’s right. Hours later, I was still amped up. Go figure. I don’t know what Tabitha’s excuse is. Needless to say it’s going to be a long day for both of us.
As for this puzzle, if you guessed 22-Down was the seed entry for this baby, you’d be right. Favorite clue: 21-Across. Hope you enjoy it.
Share the puzzle. New one on Thursday.
I like the “Yaz” reference even though the wrong “Sox” won in 67. I am a White Sox fan and this was one of my favorite teams, although they folded badly. I remember Joel Horlen pitching a no hitter rather late in the year.
I liked the ‘el nino” clue and my favorite new word for the day is “jerkface.”
Wow, this was beyond hard!
44 Across – that’s led to, not lead to…
Incredibyl hard one here, BEQ. Looked like an incredibly impossible one to solve, but managed to make it with one mistake (cuz I forgot to change a letter). Lots of obdurate but fair clues to this one (conc. XMEN, BOILER, MADRE,etc.). Even have the overly used one, RET, but that can be tolerated. I don’t understand 14A, so just have to look it up.
I resisted PUNK for “Television genre” for way too long… Learned something new.
Anyone wanna join my campaign for “diaper genie” to supplant “sliced bread” in the old expression?
Wait – The Guess Who had another hit other than “American Woman”??? Loved the clue “Television genre” and the answer JERKFACE especially! That seed entry was the last too fall, crossing with RIESEN which I wanted to be REESES!
