Howdy!
No need to worry, this puzzle isn’t about Built To Spill. Just titled that way. It’s also probably more of an Easium than a straight up Medium. Now you know.
Heads up: the “Reckoning” parody shirts are up. Get yours now.
Share the puzzle. New one on Monday.
Yes, but wouldn’t it be awesome if it WAS a puzzle about BTS?
I’d go with “Easy” on this one. Normally I’m muttering some equivalent of 35A at this point.
really liked this one. definitely not an easium, though.
DEVINE, GOVIN, and INEE – three people I’ve never heard of. Lots of fun otherwise.
And it’s pretty cool to see the Reckoning art in the souvenir stand 🙂
Correction – GAVIN and INGE (stupid uncaught error on 41A!)
seconded. brendan, how long before you do a book of indie-rock- or even just music-themed puzzles? lots of potential there.
18A: nicely done.
I liked this one a lot, especially because it has one of my favorite Tigers in it.
Sweet puzzle, medium is exactly what I would call it. For Edmonton pro I kept thinking oh great here’s a Crosscan ode, what is the CFL team, again since OILER at first didn’t appear to fit?
Love rebus puzzles, though I still have a tyro’s unfounded expectation that they should be symmetrically arranged, like “normal” theme answers.
Also enjoyed the cluing a lot. Fav’s were 10A “It might be covered in peanut butter in the kitchen” (or in a parallel dimension), 15A “Little pecker’s sounds” (I’m a school teacher, so imagine what came to mind), 20A “‘Just to name a few’ in four letters” (nice var. on the usual “in short” or “abbrev”), and 3D “A couple, perhaps” (nice double pun).
Fun puzzle but I had to cheat to finish. Couldn’t let go of IWISH for 23a so I was stuck in the NE. Had to use the reveal to get unstuck. Other than that easium seems about right.
