Theme, grid and clues all much fun. You’re pretty good at this.
I didn’t notice the theme until I got to 65-across. Had T?ENBA for {Magic group} and it still took me 15 seconds to see (didn’t look at the crosser, obviously).

My above comment about Brendan being “pretty good at this” crossword constructing thing was intended as ironic understatement.
I got a comment from someone who thought I was being a choad so I figured I’d clarify.

What icculus said, though I tried VAL and VLK at first, thinking I’d missed an abbreviation marker.
Fun theme. Are there no other ways to break up the letters than right down the middle, though? Earlier I’d have said no, but after some of last Wednesday’s answers I’m starting to think anything is possible.
There’s one where the second word is what the F in STFU stands for. (First word rhymes with “wrist”.)
Sometimes it’s best not to wonder what else is possible, I guess.
Loved the theme, lots of fun clues. Was the placement of “He’s a weasel” directly after the Newt clue intentional? Hope so. Laughing while trying to fit GINGRICH into 25D slowed me way down. 16A “In ____” is another contender for Best of Show. Brain locked on TV shows. In reruns? Hiatus? Tick tick tick.
Already seen the Na’vi twice, so got off to a good start. But I’ve GOT to remember to start off themed puzz’s by scanning the clues for the one that gives a hint re WTF’s supposed to be going on. WOULDA filled in SE nice ‘n fast, and then had a much easier go on the themed crosses. As it was, managed to wallow through it in mere EONS, though I did have to buy three letters from Vanna to crack NE and W.
