I get a lot of queries from friends about how they can get their sons and daughters into puzzles, crosswords in general. Usually I tell them to solve puzzles with you, but that’s not much for the parent. Especially those who like to hog the whole puzzle to themselves. Believe me, I get that. But a lot of the time the books out there aren’t quite on target. I am pleased to say a new one just dropped that will be getting the BEQ seal of approval. Chris King’s “Challenging Crossword Puzzles for Teens.” The title speaks for itself. And while Chris isn’t a teen himself, his work has a youthfulness that should appeal to the finickiest solver. King’s got a nice indie blog, too, which you should be frequenting. I remember back in the day when it was Matt Gaffney and me, and that was it. Nowadays, there’s a puzzle blog under every rock you turn over. Good times! Anyway get on it.
Looking for more puzzles? The Hub Crossword (Sunday puzzles by me and Emily Cox and Henry Rathvon) and Marching Bands year seven have begun. So if that To Do list needs even more puzzles, you know what to do.
Share the puzzle. New one on Thursday.
I’m surprised there haven’t been any comments. I liked this a lot – thanks Brendan!
