THEMELESS MONDAY: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]

What’s that deafening sound ringing through my ears? I hardly recognize it. Is it … ? Can it be? Why yes, it’s the sound of silence. For frabjous day, callooh, callay, Tabitha has gone back to school five days a week. It’s a Christmas miracle. We’re only on (roughly) day 380 of 15 days to stop the spread, but who’s counting? She’s back where she belongs, and crucially, she couldn’t contain herself. Like I said, a Christmas miracle. And now casa BEQ is back to its fully operational Death Star form again. I have complete reign over every room and I can make puzzles however I damn well please, thank you very much. If I want to do it in front of the TV whilst binging bad Netflix shows, I can do just that. (Yes, I’ve done that). I don’t even have to work in the house, if there’s other locations where the muse can talk to me, then I can go there. Hell, if I want to blast Viking death metal at full volume, gorging raw meat and swigging Malรถrt in between writing clues, dammit, I might just that today. Who’s gonna stop me?
Oh, that’s right. Liz is still here. She doesn’t teach on campus until the fall. Grumble. Guess I’m putting away the valkyrie helmet.
Looking for more puzzles? The Hub Crossword (Sunday puzzles by me and Emily Cox and Henry Rathvon) and Marching Bands YEAR SEVEN! have begun. So if that To Do list needs even more puzzles, you know what to do.
Share the puzzle. New one on Thursday.
Shouldn’t it be “bingeing”, if only in the name of clarity? ๐
You took the words right out of my mouth, to quote Michael Lee Aday. Either form is grammatically correct, but “binging” can be confusing.
It might have some ear candy, omg ๐
Oh my goodness I just got the “ear candy” clue, sheesh. Super puzzle, Brendan o’ mine, thank you. I suspect the Liz Element is working positively on you!
Brenden. I’m a LONG time solver, many sources including The London Times. Yeah, I’m old…
I’ll ask, do you think that crossword solving difficulty has generally softened over the last decade or so? Seems easier to solve today than then.
