THEMELESS MONDAY: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]
PROGRAMS: [Across Lite] [Adobe Reader]
Let me take a moment to raise a glass and toast my man Nam Jin Yoon for working some graphic design magic to allow for the more professional looking PDFs I’ll be using on the site from now on. Stellar work, Nam Jin. Next thing you know, you’ll be making crosswords and suddenly my job will become a lot harder.
Wait, you’ve already done that? And they’re really good, too. Jeez. Now I’m the one who needs the drink. I take everything back!
Looking for more puzzles? The Hub Crossword (Sunday puzzles by me and Emily Cox and Henry Rathvon) and Marching Bands year six have begun. So if that To Do list needs even more puzzles, you know what to do.
Share the puzzle. New one on Thursday.
New PDF uses more printer ink 🙁
Here’s Nam Jin Yoon’s site where you can make sharp-looking PDFs for yourself: https://njyoon.github.io/
Great look! I noticed the difference immediately. I particularly like the fact that the grid is placed in such a way that my hand doesn’t cover up any of the clues as I’m doing the puzzle. (Of course, if I were left-handed, there could be a problem. Have to check out the web site Alex mentions and see if it addresses that issue.)
Checked out the the site, and it does provide some customization options.
Good news: It DOES provide an inksaver option.
Bad news: It does NOT support left-handed grid placement at this time. (Though I’m sure it wouldn’t be a tough thing to implement, since they do support top/bottom grid placement.)
Overall, though, it is a nice clean look, and an overall improvement over the original PDF format.
51 Across looks delicious — thanks!
