GOING TOO FAR: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]
PROGRAMS: [Across Lite] [Adobe Reader]
Just a few weeks ago, I ran a Going Too Far puzzle. Let’s do an encore performance, shall we? Reminder: I highly recommend doing this puzzle on paper as the digital versions will be, um, a challenge. They’re solvable, but they might require a bit more bookkeeping. Let’s review the instructions, shall we?
Many of the answers in this crossword are one letter too long and won’t fit in the spaces provided. Each of these answers will either begin or end in the gray square immediately before or after it. When the puzzle is done, all the gray squares will have been used exactly once, and the letters in them (reading left to right, line by line) will spell a quote by Anais Nin.
Got it? Good.
Quick reminder, the year-end drive is still chugging along. Long story short, this site is always going to be free. All I ask is if the crosswords’ve helped you through the, erm, challenging year that was 2020, a small tip goes a long way to keep things running smoothly. Strictly voluntary, too. PayPal or Venmo (@TheBEQ) preferred. Two bonus 21xs are yours to all who can chip in. Thanks again to all who have been able to contribute. If you haven’t got your bonus puzzles yet, let me know. Long form appeal is here.
Looking for more puzzles? The Hub Crossword (Sunday puzzles by me and Emily Cox and Henry Rathvon) and Marching Bands year six have begun. So if that To Do list needs even more puzzles, you know what to do.
Share the puzzle. New one on Monday.
The first time was a bit harder, as I failed to read the instructions and had to figure out some letters were being dropped. It was much easier this time with the instructions! Now I pay attention.
Yay! FINALLY! (I solved in Across Lite and, as you say, the bookkeeping was a bit of a challenge)
Thank you, Brendan.
Beautiful puzzle. And I thought it was fun and not too difficult doing it digitally.
I am hoping someone here can help me. I can no longer download BEQ crosswords. I still receive the email with the link, but clicking on the link doesn’t work. I’ve followed all the across lite fix ideas to no avail. I’m using on a MacBook Air Catalina 10.15.7 Suggestions are welcome. Thank you.
