I got stuck at the SE corner, but otherwise all good. Thanks, Brendan!
So which World Series was lost on a walk-off wild pitch?
I believe Brendan is referring to the 1986 World Series between the NY Mets and the Boston Red Sox. However, the clue misstates what happened. There was a wild pitch near the end of game 6, though it wasn’t a walk-off, and it didn’t end the game or the series. A subsequent error by Boston first baseman Bill Buckner led Boston to lose game 6. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Buckner%27s_1986_World_Series_error#The_setup for details. The Mets went on to win game 7 and the series.
The only World Series that ended with a walk-off wild pitch occurred in 1927 between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the NY Yankees. That series was won by the Yankees 4 games to 0. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1927_World_Series#Game_4 for details on the wild pitch that ended the series.
