Shout out to Francis Heaney for the assist on this theme. If he got a dollar for every assist, well, he might have upwards of $25 now. I know he digs Prince, so here’s a photo of Mr. Nelson to go along with the puz.
Looking for more puzzles? The Hub Crossword (Sunday puzzles by me and Emily Cox and Henry Rathvon) and Marching Bands year six have begun. So if that To Do list needs even more puzzles, you know what to do.
Share the puzzle. New one on Monday.
With a puzzle title like “Symbolizing”, I was expecting to have to enter some grawlixes for 1A. I think that still applies.
This off-the-wall solver had to eat the walls for a minute or two before cracking this one.
I solved the puzzle, but I totally do not get the theme to this one.
+1. And it’s tk status over at Crossword Fiend’s site
begin each starred clue with star – so *Ted talks becomes Started talks which is NEGOTIATED TERMS – *Key song becomes Starkey (Ringo’s Starr’s real last name) song so OCTOPUSS GARDEN, etc
Didn’t like the title of this one and found it much more difficult than most thursdays
The title seemed fine to me.
I also found it to be more difficult that BEQ’s typical Thursday, though in fairness he did rate this puzzle as “Hard”.
This one must have really been a medium because I was actually able to solve it with no Googling or checking! 🙂 Thanks for the puzzle.
ok, didn’t see the rating
Thanks I needed that
