HIT ME BABY ONE MORE TIME:
[ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]
PROGRAMS: [Across Lite] [Adobe Reader]
If you’re like me and like reading books about popular music, you’d be hard pressed to find a better one than “The Song Machine.” It’s a pretty deep dive into how all the Swedish song writers/producers/geniuses (like Max Martin, see above for his work) build hit after hit after hit, almost Terminator-like in their efficiently cold way. I suspect the author wanted to disgust the reader by pointing out how antiseptic the whole process is, as well as detailing how and why so many people are needed to write just one song. But for me, it had the opposite effect. I was completely blown away at the quality of work despite all the egos involved. Anyway, it’s a fascinating read if you’re into that sorta thing.
Share the puzzle. New one on Monday.
i Had this ACPT prospect, not counting too much on it but could conceivably make it to Stanford….i Had to tell her that STAMFORD, CONNECTICUT is the home of Jerry Springer, Maury Povich, Steve VVilkos. So Curfevv vvill be 24/7.
To BEQ: This “guy” is creepy! Can’t you block “him?”
I download the Across Lite version of the puzzle and always wonder why some puzzles, like today’s, don’t allow the solving to be timed. Anyone know the answer?
Today’s Across Lite allows your solving to be timed. You simply have to turn the timer on: click on the icon just left of the MM:SS display.
Interesting! I’ve used Across Lite for years and I never knew you could kickstart the timer by clicking on the red “00:00”. (There is no icon just left of the timer in my version.)
So that leaves the question: why does the puzzle usually open with the timer already set to run vs the very few times it opens with the timer “locked”? It must be something Brendan does on his end.
