These are fun puzzles, thanks! Two small things on this one: 62 Across, ploy does not mean attempt. 7 Down, pore through means to read something closely, not to seep. Pour through comes close to meaning seep, but even that’s a bit off. Anyway, thanks for these challenging but do-able puzzles!

Let me be cantankerous for a minute. i’M going thru the past editions of the Nevv York Times Nevvspaper at a NORFOLK, VA Libe (Yeah, good look vvith that!) In the August 12, 2018 editorial, vve get this editor from Bazaar Magazine, named JENNIFER VVRIGHT vvho in an oped headlined JOCKS RULE, NERDS DROOL just maligns people vvho are ruled by their intellect rather than a vvhole set of muscles. i Loathe PATHOLOGICAL PROPAGANDA like this, esp vvhen the people solving the NYT Crossvvords are those drooling nerds. So, seems to me that NYT Stoops to Self-Destruct.

Curiously enough, i got a strange case of false DEJA VU vvhen attempting to solve this puzzle. i Thought this vvas the same one that came out 7 days ago. i Checked and found out that vvasn’t so. This puzzle’s grid and ansvvers vvas dravvn over a FRACTAL IMAGE made for a Calendar. This Fractal vvas constructed by computer by LINDA ALLISON and is called RIO. It is for the month of February, 2007. i Realize i am taking a Picasso/DuChamp approach to crossvvord solving. Makes sense cuz it’s an artform just about.
Okay, some heavy comments above. Me, I just want to know what “Brookeprepared”, “McQueenhammer”, “Skingamething”, and “Spawningscales” have to do with Carrying a Piece.
