A near-religious experience happened when I misread a headline in the Wall Street Journal a few weeks back. A theme appeared! I was in awe, until I finally came to and wrote down the misinterpreted words, which lead to this puzzle right here. In retrospect, I should have kept a hold of it so that crossword pilgrims from all over the globe could come over to my place and stare at the miraculous object. Think of as something not unlike seeing Mother Teresa’s likeness in a danish, only on a cruciverbal level. Hallelujah!
Share the puzzle. New one on Monday.
60A, seriously? Great theme! Keep up the good work.
Mother Teresa’s face on a danish would be a good textbook case of PAREIDOLIA. Think it’s time to use that interesting term (i see EIDOLON in the middle of this) in a crossword. Good cluing would be “Seeing Things?”.
seems to me 26d ought to be coexist
thanks for the good times I have here
If you hadn’t posted this comment, I wouldn’t have figured out the theme. Thanks!
