ACROSS LITE PUZZLE: [ THEMELESS MONDAY]
PROGRAM: [Across Lite]
Don’t let the above action (inaction?) shot fool you. Things are mighty busy here at BEQ.com headquarters. It’s just that, sometimes, you gotta just lounge around and solve somebody else’s puzzles. Or chew on blocks. Can’t be firing on all cylinders 100% the time, ya know.
This grid pattern, plus or minus a few black squares, used to be my go-to pattern for making themeless puzzles. In this case, the cheater to the right of square numbered “6” is a plus; the blank square in the dead center is a minus. For those keeping track at home, the seeds were 7-, 21- and 36-Down, and I let the crossword gods lead me to wherever they were going lead me, even if it meant doing a Byron Walden impersonation at 35-Across just to make the whole thing work. Enjoy.
For the Bostonians who frequent the site. I will be doing a seminar on all things crosswords (history, how to make them, how to be a better solver, etc.) this Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Grub Street. Will you join me? Click here to sign up, UPDATE: It’s sold out. Watch this space for another seminar announcement.
Share the puzzle. New one on Thursday.
