Now that’s a piece of trivia at 1-Across. It’s one of those gift-wrapped beauties that it seems almost impossible that that wasn’t the seed entry just to showcase that factoid. Alas, it was not. As is the case with grids shaped like these, the seed entries were the long entries at 19-, 31-, 43-, and 55-Across with 20-Down holding them in place. Before I stray too far from the topic of cluing, three cheers for 60-Down, eh? Gotta love thoroughly modern clues for tired answers.
