Bizarre … took me a minute or so of reflection (!) upon completion to understand the theme. Not sure “Change of Heart” really gets at what’s happening. You are right that it’s “Medium.” Lots of easy clues, but those theme answers!? Ungettable without most crosses.
KINGAROO is utterly unknown to me. Never seen that “strip” in my life.
