A case could be made that I was probably a month late with this one. I prefer to think of it as I’m 11 months early.
Share the puzzle. New one on Monday.
For me, that was a write-in, so I’d say it was more easy than medium.
Going with Mr. Fett rather than Mr. Dog shows exquisite taste.
You’re a hoopy frood, Brendan.
Testing
Hmmmm, will try again as I just laid out a huge testimonial to BEQ and it disappeared when I tried to preview it.
As I was saying,,,,,,,,,This is my first posting. I have been doing Brendan’s puzzles for a year and a half now and wanted to laud BEQ as the best constructor around! The timeliness of the puzzles is great but what I find the most enjoyable is the cluing. I don’t know how many times that I have looked at one of his puzzles and thought to myself “there is no way that I will finish this!” and then BANG the AHA moment arrives and more times than not I get ‘er done. There is some intangible to Brendan’s cluing that I rarely see in any other constructor.
When criticizing a puzzle, I always feel like that non-jock guy in the booth who always seems to have something snarky to say about an athlete although he has never played himself.
I just.don’t.know.how.you.do.it. week in and week out!
On the other hand, I suppose it is our “job” to highlight both the errors AND the good spots of any given puzzle.
Having said that, I found this one a bit meh for a BEQ but my mission here was not to discuss today’s offering but to throw a shout out to Brendan. I only recently made a (minor) contribution and wish it was more but the 21 x 21 beauty that accompanied it was just fantastic!
Thanks again Brendan for keeping me occupied (I am a Realtor and BELIEVE ME I need the distraction) and the great pieces that you put out every week! All My Best!
Tonight: A Brendan Emmett Quigley sighting!
Daughter watching America’s Got Talent.
Me passing TV: look it’s Brendan Emmett Quigley and the Boston Typewriter Orchestra.
Boo to the panel
