ACROSS LITE PUZZLE: [ THEMELESS MONDAY]
PROGRAM: [Across Lite]

To the surprise of, well, nobody who solves this baby, the seed entry was 41-Down. No really. I’ve been trying to put that in a puzzle for a couple of Themeless Mondays lately. The entry that all of you were convinved was the seed (65-Across) was the second entry in the puzzle. Would I lie to you? Of course not.
Gotta love the fact that whilst building the grid, 27-Down was the only thing that was going to make it work in that area. Its appearance pretty much forced me to put 18-Across, well, wherever I could fit it. I love stuff like that.
Share the puzzle. New one on Thursday.

54A was an answer that was slow to gel. Not widely known I guess. 15A A much needed designation. A lot of insp. cluing like 11D,14A,60A and 60D. So what is the “J” in 41D? 58D was baffling until I got the 3rd letter in after the first 2.
Whoa, really uneven, difficulty-wise. Monday-easy for 3/4, and then there was the SE. STOLEN BASE, RECUT, OPINER were superhard to get. Spent as long down there as I did in entire rest of puzzle.
Good times.

Had to guess at Skin Care brand crossing the band…agree with Rex about the SE, but the area around that gnarly crossing took more time for me.
Cub reporters go to (J)ournalism school.
Ditto what Rex said… But fun entries nonetheless! Americans, did you know, Spandau Ballet did in fact have lots of other hits outside of the US other than True. I wouldn’t rush off to Youtube and go listen to them, but I’m just pointing it out to all y’all.
Finally, a musical group I’ve actually heard of. NE was tougher for me than SE. Another fine Mon.!
