THEMELESS MONDAY: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]
PROGRAMS: [Across Lite] [Adobe Reader]
Interesting combo in today’s offering. First up is the two 14s anchoring the grid. They’re the red-headed stepchildren of themelesses since they just don’t quite fit in the grid. And then secondly, this baby’s got only 66 words, so it’s quite a bit wide open, more wide open that I usually make them. Hopefully that adds up to an entertaining experience.
BTW: I made a puzzle for Joon Pahk’s site. If you’re not already a subscriber, … well, you have only yourself to blame. Sign up today.
Share the puzzle. New one on Thursday.
Can someone define free boats? Never heard it before and really can’t find much using the Google. Thanks
Liked it. Really was hard.
I mean full boats. Does BEQ ever respond here?
Full boat is defined as “a full price or total amount of money; generally, all of something” and Free ride as “special treatment that involves giving away something that is valuable or expensive” so they’re similar but I’ve never heard a “free ride”, which I’m familiar with, expressed as a “full boat.”
Good puzzle as usual I should add.
An all-expenses-paid scholarship is a “full-boat scholarship,” and obviously a “free ride.”
Thanks. Figured as much but have never heard full boat used, in any form.
BEQ, love your work, but AUNTELLER does not sing “Everything’s Up to Date in Kansas City.” That would be WILLPARKER.
Aunt Eller does indeed sing several lines of that song.
