CRYPTIC THURSDAY: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]
PROGRAMS: [Across Lite] [Adobe Reader]
There was a time when I thought I’d try and write more block cryptic puzzles for the site. And like all well-intentioned good habits like, say, working out more and saving more money, etc., the notion disappeared into the ether just as quickly as it appeared. Hope springs eternal. Still, this was one I’d made a while back for a book. But, I updated a couple clues, blah blah blah. Anyway, it was intended for the uninitiated, I think, and if you are one of those uninitiated, here’s a write-up for how to do them. Enjoy.
If you were looking for normal crosswords, and you haven’t yet chipped in to the (not at all required) Holiday tip drive, what’s your excuse? The site is always free, no obligation to pay whatsoever. Guilt-free solving from here to eternity. However, every time you tip a crossword constructor, an angel gets wings and the puzzle maker buys Buffalo chicken wings. Just a $10 suggested tip keeps the site chugging, and you’ll get two bonus Sundays to brighten your holidays. Thanks again to all who have been able to give. Read the appeal here.
Share the puzzle. New one on Monday.
Pedestrian left out nuts is BAH? RINSE as get up around noon?
Could you explain just these two?
Nope, have no doubt you won’t.
You solicit (beg would be more accurate) constantly yet never respond to anything here that I’ve seen.
You may make some really good puzzles, Brendan, but you’re a terrible businessman.
I’ll see myself out.
So get up around noon is RISE around N? Noon is understood or written as N where?
I’ll see myself out again.
@Me – I assume that “Pedestrian” = “BLAH” with “left” = L taken “out” gives “BAH!” = “NUTS!”
But I agree that BEQ seems not to answer questions left in his comments. I asked about making a donation, and I have been left to feel completely dissed, with no response. So, BAH!
Heavy on the proper nouns. Never been a fan of cryptics, so I’m not much of a barometer.
even with that pdf primer, I’m so lost on most of these clues. I managed 5 or 6 on my own, but the rest..
Thanks. Pedestrian as Blah is something I never would’ve connected.
