Probably more of a Mardish puzzle than a straight-up Hard one for MLK Day today. Fun fact: nearly every one of the seed entries in this puzzle never made it into the final grid. I’m … not sure how that happened, but here we are. The good news is that I’ve got all the seed entries for next week’s. I think. Unless I’m inspired to use different words, there’s always that option. Anyway, dig in.
To all my MIT Hunt peeps, let me know if there were any particularly entertaining puzzles from this year’s Hunt. I suspect I probably won’t be able to solve (m)any of them, but it’s always worth a quick look to see what was asked of the solvers. I’ll share noteworthy ones in a future post.
Share the puzzle. New one on Thursday.
BRNO and POLDER is a tough cross…I got naticked there…
Agreed, I was lucky enough to guess the right vowel. Gotta Google polder now.
A joke concerning crossvvord solving: 4 guys are gathered together having a chat. One guy says “I can make 5 holes-in-one in one game. I can rake in $42 Million in any given year”. Second guy says that his RBI is .335. He has a 10-year $100,000,000 contract. Third guy says that he can make 5 touchdovvns in any game and can have a dozen girls cravvling all over him. Fourth guy says “VVell, i can MFing ansvver any and all questions about golf, baseball, and football.” Think he only makes $200 a year.
Brendan, Brendan, Brendan… Go see “The Post.” 28A is wrong wrong wrong. Interesting that both NY Times and The Post would fit. You’re usually SO careful!

Actually, NY Times works fine since the story was first leaked there.
