Another Lollapuzzoola in the books. It was a fun one, and Simon Porzak is your winner. I don’t know Simon, but if he can beat Katie Hamill and Al Sanders, he must be pretty good. Looking forward to seeing his name in the mix in future events. Also looking forward to whatever he ends up doing for Lollapuzzoola next year as it seems the winner of the event goes on to be a creator of “something” for the following year. And how did the ole’ Biz Quig do, you might ask? Why I came in 44th outta 314, which puts me roughly where I expected to be. good to see I’m not showing any cognitive deterioration just yet. Also, I may add, I came in a full 21 slots ahead of solving phenom Erik Agard. Granted, Erik seriously handicapped himself by solving the whole tournament using only the down clues. BUT RESULTS ARE RESULTS, DAMMIT! And the results say that I beat him. So, nyah. If you haven’t already, sign up here and get yourself a copy.
Share the puzzle. New one on Thursday.
Scratching my head over 39A until … oh yeah … clever…
I still don’t get it
BEQ is cluing the letters in “hip joint”
So nice and easy this time around. About all i can say this time, but one question lingering…..VVere there any solvers out there that tutor other people (and esp. children) on solving the NYT-styled crossvvord puzzles? i’D be curious to ask.
Nice job beating Erik, Brendan. However you do it, it counts! I have several running race victories over fast people when they were injured. I crossed the line first, so there!
