THEMELESS MONDAY: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]
PROGRAMS: [Across Lite] [Adobe Reader]
Couple links for you today. First up, Vox has a crossword now. Well, they’ve had a crossword for a while now, but it was a piece of shit and not worth mentioning before. But today they unveiled their roster of puzzlers and it’s some truly good people. Blindauer, Nediger, Ries, Tringali Golden, and Koiki. Like I said, good people who know what they’re doing. So get up on that will ya?
Also, for those who are looking to get into the world of cryptics, and you need a hand understanding what the hell the clues are all about, why don’tcha go over to Ryan Mice’s site? His blog is kind of like the Rex Parker/CC/Crossword Fiend of all things Guardian. Now, I woudln’t necessarily recommended those puzzles if you’re starting out as they can be crazy hard. But beginners should consider trying their Everyman. Having said that, there are some quality setters in the Guardian rotation: Paul and Brendan to name two, so perhaps this will help the flummoxed enjoy them. Anyway, good stuff.
Looking for more puzzles? The Hub Crossword (Sunday puzzles by me and Emily Cox and Henry Rathvon) and Marching Bands year six have begun. So if that To Do list needs even more puzzles, you know what to do.
Share the puzzle. New one on Thursday.
Thank you Brendan. You know so many things!
Since when is “yada yada yada” “yadda yadda yadda”?
Also, I’m not musical but I haven’t found a good explanation of “RES” as “staff notes”, though I know it is found regularly in puzzles. Can anyone give me a brief one?
Thanks.
I think it might be plural for re, as in do, re, mi…
Thank you.
