THEMELESS MONDAY: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]
PROGRAMS: [Across Lite] [Adobe Reader]
A couple weeks back, Emily Cox and Henry Rathvon made a rather startling announcement in the Boston Globe. I’ll give you a minute to read it. Now, it’s fine, go. Go! I’ll still be here. Okay? You’re back. Listen, I’m not the one crying… Man this feels a bit like your favorite band breaking up. I’ve been told that they’re still making the WSJ cryptics, so that’s a big sigh of relief. Still. Who’m I going to be splitting Globe/Hub duties with?
Those who get the Sunday Globe (or get it on-line), noticed a familiar name on the puzzle page yesterday. Joon Pahk made his debut, and in a few short weeks, will be Hex’s full-time replacement. Two local Boston boys, doing their hometown paper proud. Hip hip, Joon. Welcome aboard. So I guess, now’s a good time as ever to mention The Hub Crossword again. We’ll have about two more months of just me and Hex, then Joon rotates in. So get on board now, if you haven’t already.
Is it Friday yet? (Looks at calendar.) Okay, not for a few days. Can you tell, I’m a little overexcited
about the American Crossword Puzzle Tournament? You bet I am. Hopefully I will see all of you this weekend.
Share the puzzle. New one on Thursday.
But … but … but who will be doing the NY Times Acrostics every other week? I live for those!
Amen!
I’m glad for Emily and Henry — but sad for me (she said selfishly). Thank you for the puzzle, Brendan.
Pretty sure 8d wore a smoking jacket, though a a bathrobe would be a great parody.
Oh, and doubleplusgood puzzle!
