Man, like we needed even more daily puzzles to occupy ourselves, Josh Wardle (you know, that Wordle guy) very quietly launched a new game this week. Yep, you read that right. It’s called Parseword, a name that probably elicits a chuckle when he says it with his British accent. But I digress. As if Josh wasn’t enough star power, none other than original queen and king of cryptics Emily Cox and Henry Rathvon came outta retirement to provide some real banging material in said game. A supreme Dream Team, What’s the deal? It’s a rather unique way of unravelling the mysterious cryptic crossword. So, if you’ve been hearing me bang on about them for (checks calendar), a long long time now, and you still haven’t pulled that trigger, then give this a try. Tell ’em Brendan sent ya.
Share the puzzle. New one on Monday.

Just what I need! Another puzzle. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I should add that I so miss Emily Cox and Henry Rathvon’s Acrostics. No other acrostic constructors can compare with their skill at constructing acrostics with interesting clues and words and brilliant quotes, although the WSJ does come close.
Seconded. Seconded. Seconded.
Thanks, Brendan.
Good grid; cool theme; REALLY cool tunes here (Ween deep cut in the post, “Uptown Top Ranking” and “Hey Ladies” in the grid?? nice)
I am trying to solve this puzzle in “The Source” newspaper in Bend, Oregon. The clues DO NOT match the clues posted above. specifically 5&14 across and 5,6,7,8 down. How did that happen? Very disappointing….
Love your puzzles but feel duped on this one…
