Themeless Monday for you. Enjoy.
Happy Birthday to Align, which turned one on Saturday! Lil’ baby is almost all grown up. Oh yeah, I’ve got some news about that game, that I’ll be announcing, uh, soon. So … watch this space.
Share the puzzle. New one on Thursday.

That was a SLOG.
very difficult – agree.
That one was far outside my knowledge zone. 19A, 35A, 48A – all are ?
Long answers.
Monday’s puzzle is always themeless. Google will give you more info on each.
Tough but fair (but then I’ve got a desktop dictionary with Wikipedia built in). I was glad to learn of 19A. Thanks, Brendan…and what’s going on with Align?
This was a fantastic puzzle that I initially didn’t think I could finish, but the crossings were all extremely fair and it all came together beautifully for me (no Google, no cheats). I appreciate difficult puzzles that I can think my way through. And I consider myself only an average solver.
Also, Brendan, it’s nice of you to post a TFC song, considering you took a shot at them in Crossword #1691. SPIN didn’t make a mistake.
Rough one. Didn’t think I’d finish for a long time. 48A and 36D was a grim crossing. Kind of hate that 48A was my first long foothold. 35A was excellent, and 54A will always remind me of my Grandmother and Mom who solved before me. 34D could use a (literal) question mark these days.
Nice one! Love these Monday puzzles that make you earn your pint.
got thrown by “whydunits”, should have realized “raos” made no sense 🙂
A darn hard one. But a good one. 6D had me stumped.
Sorta spoiler. I think I coined a new phrase: “Look sharping” (Wasn’t the right answer but it made sense)
