The clue for ASSONANCE is sketchy at best. Most grammarians avoid the term ‘internal rhymes’ (when referring to assonance) because 1. Assonance doesn’t have to be ‘internal’ and 2. Assonance has nothing to do with rhymes or rhyming. Assonance is the repeating of a vowel sound that DOESN’T rhyme (otherwise…we’d call it a rhyme. ‘Fake rain’ = assonance. ‘Fake rake’ = rhyme).
Good note! Had the same thought. Would that we were all be able to clone ourselves to act as our own editors.
