TALKING CROSSWORDS: [ JPZ][ PDF]
PROGRAMS: [Crossword Solver] [Adobe Reader]
Talking crosswords? All the time. Sometimes to the horror of my wife whose eye often glaze over mid-conversation. Anyway, PROGRAMMING NOTE: You’ll notice there is no Across Lite file today. That is because the theme requires some features that Across Lite doesn’t offer. And so, you’ve got two choices: installing Crossword Solver to solve the JPZ version, or the old tried-and-true PDF/printer version for you. And if you go that route, consider it a practice run for this weekend’s American Crossword Puzzle Tournament.
You may be asking: “Hey Brendan, will I see you in Stamford this weekend?” Answer: yes, but only on Friday night. Due to a rotten bit of overscheduling, I simply cannot be there for the whole event. But I will be making a cameo, so please come on by and introduce yourself if you should see me. In fact, I’ll be a participant in Eric Berlin’s Escape Room event Friday. So if you’re competing in that, you will definitely see me. Anyway, good luck to all competing. And for those who aren’t competing, click the above link and sign up for the play at home version, will ya? All right.
Share the puzzle. New one on Monday.
Outstanding puzzle today. Good luck to y’all at the ACPT.
Hey BEQ. I like this puzzle a lot but I have an issue with the clue for 41D. Wouldn’t the answer to “What brave does in the national anthem” be “comeslast”. I don’t mean to be a stickler for grammar, but I got hung up there because I figured the answer had to be in the third person singular. Just asking?
Loved this one. Great concept and only one clunker at 58D. Hard to beat this one for puzzle of the week.
Could have clued 45A as ’46 “My bad”‘. Nice puzzle!
What a great puzzle today!
We had the same issue with 41D that Jillgsullivan had. The wording was awkward. But still and all, a terrific puzzle.
No puz file?
Great puzzle, my fave to date…
What is the issue? Brave *does* come last. Get it?
I’m normally the tense and verb form Nazi but it was cleverly worded so as to be correct in the sense I used it in.
