THEMELESS MONDAY: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]
PROGRAMS: [Across Lite] [Adobe Reader]
I took inspiration for this grid from the totally boss grid that Kameron Austin Collins did for his latest HIGH:low crossword. (Not a subscriber for that? Sign up, it’s free.) But unlike K’s impressively wide-open construction (his had only 64 words), the ole Biz Quig had to move a couple black squares to make it a more traditional 70 words. But hey, that’s me telling you how the sausages are made. All that matters is: is the puzzle fun? And I say “yes.” Hopefully you agree.
ANNOUNCEMENT:If you were thinking of getting one or all of your loved ones a BEQ custom crossword for the holidays, get in touch with me sooner than later. But they’re not just for the holidays. They make good birthday presents as well. And to date, 100% of the people who propose to their loved ones with a BEQ crosswords have become hapily married. So, let’s do it. Like I always say: custom puzzles are once-in-a-lifetime gifts, unless you get two of them. This December, say it with a puzzle. Email today.
Share the puzzle. New one on Thursday.
People who propose with a Qthulhu puzzle become hippily, not just happily, married.
Today’s was more medium for this solver, though got snagged in the NW for a while thinking “whacking” was about weeds, so 7D had to start with gaRDEn and 1A was SLOWJig, which of course is absurd.
Maybe all the transgender news is fogging my brain. I got sidetracked with GENDER CHANGE for 7D, which … wow … as a male made me cringe.
Ok, 7 Googles later, it’s done and Mr Happy Pencil appears. Always learn something from a BEQ xword. Since it was a BEQ, I was thinking in an entirely different direction on 7D.
