CANDY CRUSH: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]
PROGRAMS: [Across Lite] [Adobe Reader]
It’s entirely possible that I’m the only person on the planet who hasn’t played Candy Crush. I’m not sure if that’s a source of embarrassment, or a badge of honor. You tell me. Now if we were talking Two Dots, then that’d be a whole different story. But I didn’t make a puzzle called Two Dots. Next week, man. Next week.
Crossword folks, getcha calendars out for me, will ya? The American Crossword Puzzle Tournament is coming up fast (as of this post, just three weeks out). The tournament’s moving back to Stamford CT after a five-year run in Brooklyn. And while the atmosphere of downtown Stamford is lacking, as compared to NYC, the cost of the tournament is way down. Like way down. $200, I think gets you access to everything. Now, I’d mention who the puzzlemakers are for the ACPT this year, but I haven’t the faintest idea. Knowing tournament director Will Shortz, and how he works though, I bet the puzzles haven’t even been made yet. I will mention that Dan Feyer has somehow already won the event, so it’s a race for second place, everybody. Anyway, hope to see you there.
Share the puzzle. New one on Monday.
Corrections:
–Seven-year run in Brooklyn. I know because those are the only years I’ve been!
–Cost of the tournament is only slightly down, but the hotel rooms are indeed way down.
–It’s not a race for second place… OK fine whatever.
I’ve never played candy crush.
Not medium for me as it was largely a trivia test.
Too old for 4D and too young for 63A. I loved the clue on the latter, though.
