This theme went in four entirely different directions during the development stage. No spoilers, so I won’t go into any specifics. But, I can say it went from being too vague, to promising yet lacking a punch, to funny but somewhat aimless, to accidentally stumbling into a pattern. I love it when that happens. Props to Liz who came up with the obvious title and boom, the rest fell into place. Crying shame that I can’t use the three discarded themes somewhere. But you never know. Maybe I’ll look at those sketches and see something else entirely to go with. Maybe those scraps of themes are a fountain of other ideas that I can tap from when I’m running dry. Probably not, but hey, I can dream can’t I?
Share the puzzle. New one on Monday.
That was a lot of fun. Also, I’ve always had the old rock star picture of you on this site conflated in my brain with the frontman of 30D (who I’ve never seen live, sadly).
As a South Park fan, I initially had something completely different for 44D.
Being that this is a BEQ, should I read 44-A, “Bothered heavily,” as “ATE AT” or “A TEAT?”
You described the process of finding your theme as going “from being too vague, to promising yet lacking a punch, to funny but somewhat aimless, to accidentally stumbling into a pattern.” I’m an artist/craftsperson, and my process often goes somewhat like that, too 🙂
Oddly enough the first real concert I went to was 65A as well. November 23, 1987 was probably a few years after your parents first date though.
