ACROSS LITE PUZZLE: [ THEMELESS MONDAY]
PROGRAM: [Across Lite]
Good news. BEQ.com is back to its original 9 a.m. posting schedule Mondays and Thursdays. If you are a Puzzle Social user, however, you can do the puzzles the night before they’re posted here. Same content, different ways for you to enjoy them. Now, on with the program
I’d like to draw your attention to a Kickstarter drive run by my buddy Trip Payne. Trip is planning on writing a suite of puzzles for a larger metapuzzle and he’d like your help to fund it. He writes:
The puzzles will all involve words and/or images; there will be no tricky logic problems and no pure math puzzles. In terms of difficulty, that depends partly on how much experience with puzzle extravaganzas you have. Generally speaking, none of the puzzles will be brainbusters in and of themselves, but there may be gimmicks added to them that make it harder to find their solutions. For those of you familiar with similar concepts: it will be nowhere near as hard as MIT Mystery Hunt, or even a P&A Magazine issue, but definitely tougher than a Puzzability op-ed section; closer comparisons might be an NPL Saturday-night extravaganza or a Games World of Puzzles “special section.”
All backers will receive said suite, but also (depending on your donation) at least one other bonus puzzle thrown in for good measure. I know I’m personally looking forward to two of them, the Sunday-sized Something Different crossword and the 25×25 (!) cryptic. Wow. Sign up today, if you wish.
Lastly, this is the last week of the BEQ tip drive. Thanks to all who hit it up already. If you’d like my never-before published Sunday-sized themeless puzzle, please give at least $10 to the tip jar. This offer will expire on January 2. (I know the ad says January 1, but I just added a day. Sue me.)
Share the puzzle. New one on Thursday.

Can someone explain? Thanks
Mothers deliver babies.
Head slap—looking for acronyms! Closest I could find was “medical assistant”…
40-Across is also going to need some reference to interceptions and fumbles pretty soon…
I’m gonna go out on a limb and add GPO vs APO to my “URAL vs ARAL/ODER vs EDER” list…
