I guess I have literary themes on the brain as I’ve been solving the Ben Tausig-edited “Penguin Classics Crossword Puzzles” in between all-things Tabitha. I really should be catching up on sleep, but, I’m an addict. What can I say? Anyway, if you haven’t checked that book out, Ben’s commissioned work from all the usual suspects (me, Pat Blindauer, and Byron Walden to name three), and showcased a lot of up-and-coming talent too. Themes range from straightforward Sporcle-like workouts, to some truly inventive gimmicks (how about two: Kristian House’s “The Times They Are a-Changin'” and Daniel Finan’s “Ghost Story”). They’re a bit on the easy-ish side of things (much easier than Ben’s Inkwell puzzles, if you’re familiar), so fans of this site should have no problem with them. And as I always say, I wouldn’t mention a book if I didn’t think you should buy it. So get your copy: here.
Share the puzzle. New one tomorrow.
Something screwy happened with the site. Two reposts, and now we’ve lost the comments. Please repost if you had said something earlier. Thanks.
WTF? I just finished the puzzle (I know, I’m slow) but I don’t understand the theme. I came here to the comments for some insight, and nothing??? Nice misdirection at 53D.
Except for EDGAR in the middle of one answer, we have no clue…
